If you've ever wanted to know just how warped it can get, then you really need to read this collaboration of great minds take on Having Layout. Microsoft's Internet Explorer CSS support dissected
A word of advice: sit down, relax pour yourself a large one of whatever takes your fancy, it could take time to get your head around.
Seriously though, an enlightening article, and much needed.. and I promise not to sulk that it puts my own musings to shame :)
