CSS meets Standards ~ it gets closer in IE7 (Beta2)

I can't really not mention this today either.

No sooner was Internet Explorer 7 beta released along with the news that 2 of those annoying IE bugs were fixed, than a much more interesting post appeared on the IEBlog.

Chris Wilson, tells us that there is much more bug fixes and some increased CSS support coming in IE7 Beta2!. While there is no mention of when that's to happen, it's news enough that they are at least telling us.

And in another post, somewhere in amongst all those comments he asks for feedback as to whether they should release IE7 with the * html {} selector fixed (As in it won't work as a hack any more).

As for the "* HTML" selector issue - actually, it's currently fixed (that is, it no longer works) in beta 2; however, I'm on the fence as to whether we should ship that (it does help our appearance on the acid2 test), since it is in use in the web today for browser switching. I'd welcome feedback on whether we should fix it in IE7 or not.

Interesting times ahead perhaps?
